I love my Moog Little Phatty!

Just got this off of eBay for a great deal (just under a grand, like new, perfect cosmetic condition, original box and manual).  I love it!  The filter is thick and full of character, the waves are bright, and the secret weapon, the "OVERLOAD" knob should essentially be labeled "magic" because it sounds so cool.  This synth is a BEAST.  No wonder so many live shows use it.  Off the top of my head, I know that Starsmith uses one in his studio, and The Knocks use one in their live setup.  I'm fairly sure Ben Folds keeps one around.  This is the modern pinnacle of (affordable) analog monosynth.

Below is another quick audio demo.  This one has no effects, save for limiting (only using the Logic 9 limiter) just to make sure my levels were high enough.  Truly a beast of a synth.

Little Phatty Demo 2 by The Synth Symp

Why not get your own now?  Amazon has a couple great deals.  They have the red version with control voltage modification (great for putting the LP in your modular synth).

  4. That's fantastic! Congratulations on your Moog Little Phatty purchase. It sounds like you got an incredible deal, and it's great to hear that you're enjoying the synth so much. The thick and characterful filter, bright waves, and "magic" of the "OVERLOAD" knob certainly make it a standout instrument. It's interesting to know that artists like Starsmith, The Knocks, and Ben Folds also incorporate the Little Phatty into their music production and live performances. It's impressive how this analog monosynth has become a favorite among sigma game. Your audio demo must sound amazing with all those qualities. Keep exploring the synth's capabilities and creating awesome music!
